The Philadelphia Public School Notebook is an independent, nonprofit news service read by thousands of supporters of the Philadelphia public schools. The Notebook serves as an information source and voice for parents, students, teachers, and other members of the community who are working for quality and equality in Philadelphia’s public schools. Each issue of The Notebook focuses on a theme of vital importance to public education in Philadelphia showcasing news content, community events and dialogues about education and education reform.

Why we funded
  • The Notebook is a credible and reputable source for understanding Philadelphia’s educational systems
  • The Notebook’s interest in exploring the landscape of public education for youth in the child welfare system matched ours, and helped us and others to learn about the successes and hurdles these youth face in the public education system
